The year should start with art! (Tim Burton)

Boy! Good luck getting into this exhibit. The MoMa staff seem to slap their "Tim Burton sold out for today" note on the signs every day.

I must warn you. It's not the best-curated exhibition ever. The guy is so prolific that the rooms are crammed with sketches and paitings and glass cases upon glass cases of puppets. But if you ever drooled over the stark and weird aesthetic that is Tim Burton's you are well-advised to come back until they let you in. Because you do want to see the original cookie cutter robot from Edward Scissorhands, right? And the Scissorhand costume. And the Batman mask (I had honestly forgotten that Burton did the early Batman movies, oops!).

So shortly after the holidays I was particularly fond of everything Nightmare before Christmas. Like the little dog Zero on the photo. (I risked getting yelled at taking that pictures as one shalt not photograph anything in the Burton exhibition.)
