Before you get all sad about getting turned away at the Tim Burton section you should just take the escalators up to the top floor and enjoy what is a pretty fantastic exhibition on the Bauhaus movement.
What I love about Bauhaus is that it wasn't just a style of design and architecture, it was a movement that supported a new approach to modern life and a modern frame of mind. Everything is convenient, efficient, yet done beautifully. Clear lines, strong colors. The furniture, the fabrics, the typography -- everything still feels fresh.
Does it diminish the exhibits value if I say that, for the first time, I wished that it wasn't an exhibit but a sales floor? I wanted everything. But most of all did I want those nesting tables.
